Hey everyone. I was searching today's news when I found amazing photos of the world's rarest whale giving birth. I thought it was neat, so I'm sharing it with the community.

Apparently, this happened over two years ago and the pictures are finally being released.

Here's the link. Just click on the photos link in the middle of the story to see nature in action!

I think these are some great pics, and I think you'll all think so too!

Peace,

Very cool.   Talk about timing!

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Well, birth underwater by an animal that breathes air must certainly be tricky. Remember, only whales and dolphins actually fit that bill- they're mammals. Fish, crustaceans, and other sea creatures don't breathe air, they have gills. Plus, they typically lay eggs. Live birth is a mostly mammalian trait.

With the proliferation of digital cameras and cellphone cameras, there's pictures of everything these days. I mean, back when you needed a full size camera with film, you were limited to taking 20-30 pictures without having to load in a new roll of film. And then you'd have to take that film somewhere to get it developed, wait a day or two for the development to finish, and pay them money for the pictures. And if you wanted more copies, you'd need to take back the negatives and shell out more money for them.

Now, with my digital camera, which is significantly smaller than your typical film camera (most of the volume is actually batteries, lens, and screen), I can take over 900 pictures without having to "reload". Plus, I can turn the flash on and off, adjust the exposure time, and play with other fancy settings, too. Not stuff you could do with an average film camera. And when I want those pictures, I just plug the thing into a USB port on my laptop, cut and paste them into the appropriate folder, and there they are in a matter of seconds (or minutes, if the card is closer to full). Plus, it can do more than take pictures, it can take film at 10 frames per second.

And since everyone has a cellphone, most people always have it with them, and many phones have built in cameras, photography is as easy as flip it open and snap. Anywhere, anytime.

I've taken more pictures in the last two years than my entire family took during the entire 1990's. And I have printed/developed exactly zero of them. Why would I need to? They're all on my hard drive.

Such is the power of digital stuff.

Digital is good.

Digital cameras, there when you need them!

Now you can take a picture and print it without paying for it!
