Donald trump has made both himself and the scottish government (former scottish executive)

look even more sleazy by not following our stringent planning system to build 2 golf courses on sites of special scientific interest. Trumps plan was turned down by aberdeenshire council but Trump refuses to follow the usual appeal process.

The dodgy quote from Donal to Alex Salmond (first minister) was "If Jack Nicklaus tried to do this, he'd have zero chance, but they like what I've done, and because I am who I am and my mother is Scottish. Between you and me, I'm going to get it"

THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS! Just becuase he has money and he's half Scottish doesn't give him any right to sidestep any laws of any country he's in.

The world doesn't need more golf courses, and resorts, and giant luxury hotels and condominiums, also a lot less dick heads like Donald Trump.

Well firstly he is only doing it because the Scottish Executive are allowing it. Alex Salmond said he would ensure he gets to built it. Nice that your First Minister for Scotland seems to have no regard for the protected Scottish environment.

I agree that breaking planning laws are unacceptable. Though if it fails he is going to build it in Northern Ireland in an area in north Antrim, where there are no planning issues and he will not be building without the associated housing on the smaller site like in Scotland.

Scottish executive/government same different. I wouldn't call them a government though they lack many of the powers a government has. They just changed it and spend hundreds of thousands just to look more important.

Yes I agree I dislike Salmond a great deal he seems to lack basic understanding on several issues and his constant Scottish independence babble is very irritating and flawed.

Wouldn't be the first time Donny Boy managed to get ordinances and rules bent to suit his business.

Why, in my very own town (Stamford, CT) he's got a luxury apartment tower going up that's going to be 34 stories (350 ft/107 m) tall... head and shoulders over the present tallest building in town, One Landmark Square (21 stories, 295 ft/90 m tall), and in excess of the height which zoning laws permit in the area. The city council gave him a variance for it.

It was originally planned at 45 stories, and there was so much pubic outcry that he was forced to cut it back.

Of course, it won't be even half as tall as the famous 664 ft/202 m "Trump Tower"... but that's in Manhattan, so it fits in with the surroundings.

Honestly, one of the rich ones who hasn't done much for the world either, except build luxury condos and casinos, like we need more of those.

Everytime I hear that guy speak, it's about a new luxury apartment tower, the last model he mated with or some stupid golf course resort.

You  have to give credit to the guy though, he uses all his money, makes up some stupid model competition, marries and has kids with the winner, wonderful!

Alex Salmond will try as hard as he can to force this through he always does even Scots are becoming sick of him and the independance thing is fading with accelerating pace
