commute for wealthy sims

how can i fix it so that wealthy sims will commute just as far as a medium or poor sim? i think realistically a wealthier person would commute much farther than a poor person, since the wealthier person can afford to.. And it would be worth the wealthier better educated person commuting to a very high paying job, unlike a poor person commuting a large distance for a minimum wage job.

Anyway , how can i fix it so that wealthier sims will commute just as far? i think thats why my wealthier sims have the icon above their home that implies they have no job... either that or there arent enough jobs available? how do i tell WHY they have no job? i dont know for sure but i suspect its the commute problem.

There are multiple solutions to this problem.

1. Download the "June 2007 NAM mod" in the modds and downloads section. ( This really helps)(not a cheat)

2. U can download the "Plopable Building Mod" in the ST-Exchange section which allows u to place ANY growable or plopable building anwhere u want.

( This means u can plop a high wealth building across the street from a highwelth house)(cheat)

is that compatible with the nam traffic simulator i got over here? coz i reaally like this mod.. they actually use mass transit to a decent degree now.. seem to stay away from monorails tho, so maybe its buggy.

    another question : )

what is the autmatron option in nam june 2007?

and the "ant" network? not realyl sure if i want those or not coz i dont know what they are and the readme doesnt explain.

i live in the uk too, so the left handed drive would be nice, but i suspect i would have needed to buy the uk version of the game and that wouldnt work with my import anyway.

The 1st suggestion is a good one, but it will still not do all that much to help with this problem. It will just help with extending the amount of tiles that sims would be willing to travel in general. I really wish there was a mod that would help reduce the "pickyness" of R$$$ sims.. because there are suburbs in New Jersey where R$$$ (R$$$$ sims in some areas) commute 1.5 - 2 hours to NYC every day by car/bus and thats including a 30-60 minute tunnel/bridge delay.

With the second suggestion, i have found that even plopping R$$$ houses will still result in abandonment as well.

    SC 4 + CS 1.6 = :]

Uh, for the traffic stimulator to work, I believe you have to have the current NAM, the NAM expansion and NAM Essentials to work, meaning that you should have the nam already, or else the nam traffic stimulator isn't working right now on your computer because you don't have the dependencies.

theres no such thing as "nam essentials" i looked through the entire download list..

but i do have the nam june 2007 mod combined with the simulator now.

or the "nam expansion" doesnt exist... where did you get this from?

I guess you didn't look hard enough. Either that, or the file I downloaded called "NAM Essentials" doesn't actually exist. Look in the NAM general thread. It has pointers in there.

*****????????? i searched the forums and downloads and its not there? where the hell have they posted it? couldnt they just add it to the download section under an obvious search term like the authors name ( like i tried) or just nam?? (search "nam" only shows the nam simulator)

its ironic that a mod that's supposed to simulate better pathfinding for the sims, is lost in a labrynth somewhere in the download section don't you think..

    jesus christ.

NAM Essentials You'll need this if you use any of the 'addon' mods for the NAM; such as RHW, SAM, or the additional bridges. If all you're trying to use is the NAM Traffic Simulators, the NAM Essentials is not required, just the NAM Jun 07 version (according to the Readme). Hope this helps.

one final question... if i installed version A of the traffic simulator with park and ride..

and people still choose to use highways over subways or buses, both of which only have a 10% usage.. is that a bug?

Well, that would probably depend upon your population type and whether the highway is a 'better' way for travel than the others. Might want to keep developing and see what happens.
