Maxis Residential and commerical lots problem

Hey everyone! After I was trying to simply clean up my plug-ins folder, I went into the game and started playing on this city. When I zoined for residential, some houses like below came up without a driveway and other accessories.

But as you can see, not all of the lots had that problem. The lots that do not have that problem I downloaded off of this site. It also happened to the default commercial Maxis lots.

Any help is appreciated. The problem just sprang out of nowhere. Any other information you need, you can ask me.

Thanks,

Looks like you may have deleted a prop package that had overridden the maxis textures and props.

I suggest you save your regions and plugins folders, say to your desktop, then reinstall the game.  If the game runs correctly without your plugins, then you should put your plugins back carefully, testing after each add.

Are your graphics set to high? Might be the problem...

    (Sorry to double post)

    Something I do not understand happened. i went into a already created city and I went to see if I have the same problem there. It turns out, everything was fine. Was it only because of the city? Here's two pictures of some of them to show you.

    So, I should check the graphics settings?

    Thanks, I fixed the problem!

    It was all because I had a certain setting not on the way I needed it to be. Only still, whenever I zone with for example 5 1x3 lots side by side, 2x3 and 2x2 residential always come in. Whats wrong now? Thanks once again!

    Hello bbfan02,

    whenever I zone with for example 5 1x3 lots side by side, 2x3 and 2x2 residential always come in.quote>

    Nothing is wrong. Just your sims being sims - and developing the buildings that they currently desire.

    Should you desire to discourge this - you might try a different zone density (which may or may not work).

    NetPCDoc is right. Sims may cut big lots into small, or add several small lots to a big one. That´s just how they do it. BUT... You can fool them not to do it 2.gif

    The trick is to zone "strips" of different density levels if You want to have small buildings, since sims can not add different density lots to each other. Example:

    R=Road tile

    M=Medium density tile

    D=Dense density tile

    RRRRRRRRRR

    MMMMMMMMMM

    MMMMMMMMMM

    Here the sims will put 2, 3 or 4 small lots into big lots and build big houses when demand is high.

    RRRRRRRRRR

    MDMDMDMDMD

    MDMDMDMDMD

    Here you will always have small one-tile wide lots with small buildings.

    Happy building!!
