Desktop/Display Error

My laptop has just recently been having strange issues where it would display blue pixles that seem to "hover" above the desktop background, for example:

I have rolled back my driver, adjusted the monitor settings, switched to ann external monitor, yet nothing seems to work.
Specs:128 ATI mobility Radeon X600, driver was 8.281.0.0 A, but roled it back to 6 something. Please help.

    I did, will try it again, failed before it completed.
    Edit: after addtional tests, this appears to be a video card problem, not fun.

    Edit 2: It gave me a GPF today, here is a summary:

    Device driver stuck in infinate loop, this usually indicates a problem with the device or the driver

    You say you rolled back your driver; why not try installing the latest version again?
