New Newb looking for Sim City 4 tutor/helper

I see you are new to simtropolis, and there are many things you can do to make your cities function and look better.  First, you may want to look at the NAM (short for Network Addon Mod.)  It greatly improves traffic times and pathfinding skills of sims, and it adds new options for rural highways and ground light rail.  Second, you will want to check out the Simtropolis Exchange, where you can download new buildings to make your city look better.  To Install these files, simply open the installer file or put the folder in your Plugins folder.  Lastly, you will want to check out the Omnibus to learn how to use those spiffy new mods you downloaded.  If you have any more questions, just post them here.  Hope I helped!

My recommendation is pick pick up a copy of SimCity4 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide).

If your new to this game there is a lot to learn and a handy guide book that you can read any where is just another help tool.

Plus it has a lot of pictures and charts that you need to learn.

Just type the name into google search an look at purchase ideas.

I bought the original guide a few years ago in a shop in Aberdeen for £12.99. It is worth every pence if you look for explanations or statistics of any kind (buildings, streets, capacities etc.). If you look for city planning or strategies it is not what you want.

I now tried to get the deluxe or rush hour version (with a few more chapters) as I only have the original version but it is not printed any more and prices have actually risen so now you get used books for twice the price. You can buy and download an online version at the Prima's homepage but an online version is rubbish as you want it the same time you play the game.

Naturally, Scots are tightwads so I do not buy it for twice the original price. If someone sells it for a normal price or knows where to get it I am interested.
