help instructions for making new regions do not work

i have been trying to make a custom region of kelowna bc but sim ciy will not render it at all i dont even get any error messages. i made my grey scale image as per the instructions(i followed them to the letter) made the image the correct size 1025x1025. i did every thing perfectly but now sim city does nothing i load the image usingctrl+shift+alt+r and nothing i even let it sit for 12 hours while i slept hoping it would work. please help what am i doing wrong? does it take sim city more then 12 hours to render the region? help help? please

At that size region it shouldn't take any more than 12 minutes (unless your computer is really slow, in which case it might take 20 minutes).

If the region is rendering correctly you should see the same messages flashing up at the top of the screen like when you load a city (only more of them).

If your region is not rendering, make sure that your greyscale is true greyscale (ie not 16.7 million colours using only grey shades). You should be able to use an image program to convert it if it is not true greyscale.

Most of the time this is what the problem is ie the colour depth is wrong.
