Welcome to Antiquus

Antiquus was founded by Lord Draco Antiquus.  Lord Draco fled from oppression from the wicked King Lupus Maleficus.  King Lupus sought the life of Lord Draco when Lord Draco ascended to power after the death of his father.  King Lupus was ever jealous of Lord Draco throughout their childhood, and could not stand to see Lord Draco happy, when the King himself was miserable.  Therefore, King Lupus sent out a proclamation to destroy Lord Draco and all his people.  Being forewarned of the King's plot, Lord Draco fled with his people, and have now reached a land new, and far from King Lupus...or is it?

Ok, this is my first try at starting a country oriented CJ.  I'm hoping that the story will be able to catch people, and also that the updates will be good.  I want to thank all those who have come out with the wonderful BAT and Lots that I am going to use.  As well as desz02091 for the cool idea of the terraforming paintbrushes from photoshop!  They helped so much with this region!  I'm going to load up the map and make some finishing touches tonight.  Hopefully I'll have something for tomorrow.

Your flag seems promising! As well as the story, I'll be back for the next update.

    Teaser Update:

Ok, I've been fiddling with random water mods, and terrain mods all day and here's what I've come up with for Antiquus.  These two pictures are actually Antiquus Minor, the smaller of the two islands that make up Antiquus.  Pictures of the large island will be released sometime later.  Enjoy!

    Chapter 1

    The Arrival

The sun had risen, bringing back the warmth it produces, "Land ahoy!" the voice of the lookout was heard throughout the ship.  Everyone rushed to the deck, to see the land before them.  Two large islands stood before them.  Piercing the sky, the large mountains seemed to touch heaven.  This would be their new home.  This would be Antiquus.

After several hours more of sailing, the wayfarers landed.  They sent row boats first, to scout out the area.  A large cleft stood at the end of a small, but pointed peninsula.  Already Lord Draco had chosen that spot for his fortress.  Once the land was scouted and found that none lived on the island, Lord Draco gave orders for all to sail to shore.

Once upon the shore, the people worked hard to start a small settlement, and begin founding their new country.  Lord Draco was busy organizing the people, and plotting the new settlement.  Not to mention drawing up plans for his new fortress.

Now, after many months, the pilgrims were settled, and could start focusing on the construction of, now, King Draco's fortress walls.  It was long and hard work, but the new walls towered above the ground, and also the ocean below.

While building the walls, the rest tended to the farms and to the building of a new church where they could worship God.

Wow. This is the first middle ages-y CJ I've ever seen. Middle ages or Renaissance? I can't tell quite yet. So far seems kind of middle ages.

Suplado! ~ Thanks!  I used the terraformer tool and photoshop to make it.  I'm still adding some finishing touches to the islands.

penguin007 ~ Thanks man.  I've kind of found the "faster" way of terraforming.  Though I do like the 'old fashioned' way of doing it. hehe

dralin321 ~ Thanks.  My biggest concern was deciding which castle to use.  I like this one the most, but I've been using another castle's set for the small red roofed buildings.

2nerdy4u ~ Thanks.  Hopefully it will look great when I'm finished with the rest of it.

kelistmac ~ Thanks.  I hope you return often.

edmonton_stinks ~ Really?  I'm drawing most of my inspiration from Jacky's Paradise 2 CJ.  Its amazing!

The Hutt ~ Thanks!  I'm still trying to find a good castle for the keep.  Hence why I didn't have a pic of it.  Hopefully I'll find one soon.

cleaner475 ~ Thanks.  I'm glad you like the new one.  Stop by often.

This is a small teaser of some terraforming I've been doing on Antiquus Minor.  Note that the settlement is not on this island.

Afterthought:  Can anyone tell me how to not have the terrain difference happen?  Like the big box in the middle from one of the cities.  What can I do to prevent that?  And, does anyone have any suggestions on some lots that would fit well in this CJ?

bbfan02 ~ Thanks!  I'm glad you like it.  Hopefully I'll have the larger island, Antiquus Major, finished and ready to be posted sometime tomorrow.

Pitito21 ~ Thanks for visiting and commenting.  I'm going to try to keep it that way.  I might even have to start making my own medieval lots if I have to.  I've never really delved into the Lot Editor, but I've been fooling around with it lately.

edmonton_stinks ~ Thanks.  I'm going to try and making it mostly middle age, but I have a feeling it will be more like middle age, leaning toward the renaissance.

Jacky ~ Thanks for coming by this CJ, to!  I've been drawing a lot on you CJ for ideas, and so far I think I've coming up with some cool stuff for this CJ. hehe

penguin007 ~  Thanks, its the Dutch Church.  I can't remember who it is by, but you can find it on STEX.

As way of announcement, I'm not finding a lot of stuff on STEX, LEX, or PLEX that I can use for housing and such in this CJ.  So, I'm going to be working on creating some of my own lots with some props I've picked up from the STEX, and else where.  If I can only figure out how to change a building's function to housing and such, it would much faster.  Does anyone here know how I can do that?  I'm still an extreme beginner when it comes to this stuff.

Beats me. Plugin manager maybe? I tried that once with Thesdale's Melbourne Urban Living Collection, which was R$ but I really thought should be R$$, but I couldn't do it.

I like where this CJ is going. It really is like nothing I've ever seen before.

edmonton_stinks ~ Thanks.  I'll see what I can figure out.  I made a request in the Lot Editor Forum, and hopefully I can understand what they tell me to do. hehe

sc4protugal ~ Thanks!  I hope you stop by often.

Fresh Prince of Wmbg ~  Thanks!  You should stop by again.

waldner ~ Thanks!  Hope to see you around.

Mike the Mayor ~ Thanks.  I hope it doesn't disappoint you.

suplado! ~ I'll definitely keep that in mind!  Hopefully it doesn't do it too much!
