I'm trying to figure out what I might have installed that is causing my games to have 0 residental demand.  I had gutted out my Plugins folder and redownloaded everything making sure that I got all the dependency's but now I have this.

Any ideas?

Save us from guessing.  Can you post a snapshot of your city and the RCI display.  Please remember the 800x600 limit for pictures, you can use the picture insertion tool to control this.

First, there are demand caps.  Try installing a landmark or two, or a couple of parks in your Res areas.

Failing that, check your Jobs and Pop graph.  You may just simply not have enough jobs to attract more Sims.

Also check all the R sections of your Desirability display.

There are tools in the game to use, but you have to interpret them.  How is your population by age?  Is is possible you have no younger Sims being trained.  Is your population aging out?  Do you have any low cost housing?

How about education.  To get Sims started up the job ladder, you need elementary schools, then high schools, then colleges and/or the university.

EDIT:  You need about three times as many Sims as jobs.  This is a family show.

sorry, work has kept me from playing the last few weeks (gasp!) but I'll fire it up this weekend and get a few screenshots!

it's really weird because the population of the city remains at 0 even though it builds and the industry and commerical demand continues to grow.

Find the problem (I have the same). The super demand ordinance and other most downloaded radical mod. Don't download both of them. The ******* Auto-Ordinance Toggling is destroying my cities! I erased the files but still the same: A message appears: Auto-Ordinance Togling15.gif) . and each 5 minute. Help!

Well, you have obviously missed something taking files out.  Look carefully at your plugins, and make sure you got all of it.

Another trick would be to move your plugins out of the game entirely, creating an empty dummy plugins directory.  Then start up your game.  Ignore any brown boxes, and see if the problem is gone.

If not, then you have bought a resinstall because something has been stepped on.
