Todd, I don't quite understand what you really want to do or have done, but are there any pictures of that building and the tower in your picture from the side? I would like to see what they look like so I can compare and find similar buildingprops in the LE.

I will have a look at this tomorrow, meanwhile try to find some more detailed pictures of that building.

The el thing now.......what are the el road props ? (linkie?)

I'm sorry, the link must have gotten lost in my sea of text. HERE is is again. I tend to want to say everything I want, rather than show, sorry about that. But don't worry too much about those props, I am starting to think not to even bother with them after looking at the building from a better perspective. The way you would have to arrange them would kill the look of the actual building.

Take your time, I am in no rush and would rather have a lot that is really great (which you are good at doing 9.gif) then one you make with out knowing what I want.

So, I'll just stick to pictures this time

    Back. Click for larger.

This is the other terminal, I can't seem to find many good pictures of it though.

Hello, I have seen lots of modular Canals, but they all seem to have brick walls

in the city I live most part of the canal has gras on both sides

    http://maps.google.nl/maps?near=alkmaar&q=google+earth&f=p&rl=1&ie=UTF8&ll=52.631585,4.756259&spn=0.001169,0.003412&t=h&z=18

I hope you can make this real, and also modular,

also I hope it can be 2 tile wide

First I would like to say that for the next two weeks I cannot do anything since I have too many things to do at the moment, but after these 14 days I will start LOTting all the things above. Hope you understand.........

tgcela, I had a look at these 2x3 homes that you asked for to make 2x2's and yes, it is possible to do so. I'll put them on my *TO-DO-LIST*. For the Granola Homes I will have a look, but I pretty much am sure that I still have them, I Liked them too..... 2.gif

I had mistakenly posted this in the BAT request thread. Anyway, can anyone help me with this?sandstoneir5.jpg

What I need are two lots as seen above. Sandstone texture, with the tiles on the left of the green line overhanging. I intend to place them in areas where highways and el lines pass over public squares, for many of which I use sandstone. Any help with this would certainly be appreciated.

Not sure if it is possible to overhang textures, haven't tried that yet, but for a week or so, I won't be able to do anything with SC4 because my hardrive crashed hard and now the whole system is under repairs.

When I get it back I will try and come back here.

    Edit:

Sorry SimHoTToDDy , we posted at the same time and I didn't see your post. As you read above I am having some serious problems with my Gaming-computer, but your still first on the list. 2.gif

Ok, I had some time to have a more serious look at all your demands last night, and here is what I can ...and cannot do.

SimHoTToDDy, I have searched the whole Maxis bldg repertory and have not found anything that comes close to your airport terminals. I guess the only way to get this is to ask  for a BAT in the BAT thread. Sorry 'bout that, unless you want something *not so* similar to that airport, then maybe I could make you a fairly nice looking one but it will not be close to what you showed above.

tgcela, No problem making these lots on 2x2's, do you want them growable as they are or as ploppable parks/landmarks? Also pm me your e-mail address, so I can send you the *granola homes*.

Muck308,  I did whatever I know I can do in the LE and have found noway how to make overhanging textures. The lot just does not want to save in the program no matter what I tried. Unless someone else has an idea how to do this here, you will have to ask this somewhere else. Sorry. I tried my best.

    Let me know...........

No biggie. Thanks for trying. I am currently using seawalls with ovehang underneath my els and highways, which works pretty well except that on certain zoom levels the parts that shouldn't be visible (b/c they are underground) are visible... but this is not that big of a deal. I appreciate your help, which is huge, b/c without it, an amateur like me would have been very confused trying to understand why that didn't work in the LE, which I currently no nothing about. Been playing for years, but never quite learned that program.

Muck308, in order to achieve that you need to enlarge a lot after you've plopped it in you city, and without bulldozing it first.

Take a look at this tutorial by dsrwaht316 for more details:

    How to texture NAM Curves

Thanks for the linkie RJ and pointing me into the right direction.

I am not a fan of airplanes at all, so I don't really know which is which (can't tell the difference....lol), but have a look at the ones I did on page 6 (near bottom) of this thread. Are those the ones you want?

If not , give me a link to the ones you would like me to lot for you and I'll make them.

Thank you very much for the link, RippleJet! And thanks again to you, mrbisonm!

That seems pretty simple, but also very complicated as I've never lotted anything.

I really appreciate the help from both of you. Very much. I will put this concept to use in my first cj, which I'm still chipping away at, slowly but surely. Look forward to seeing your lot often. I love sandstone.

I hope to return the favor someday.

Ok, I tried the tutorial mentioned above and it works fine, only one problem though......you will have to do it yourself right on the spot, meaning right in the game where you want it, since it cannot be exported as a 1x2 or 3 on a 1x1 and then used in another city. So I guess you have to do it yourself, Muck308. Actually if you follow the steps carefully, it is very very easy to do so, even for a beginner of LE. Good luck,

Cool. I'll give it a try. Thanks so much!

EDIT; Ok. So I started out pretty good... but there's an issue. Since I've never LOTed or BATed anything, there are somethings that are currently beyond me. I made a LOT, but I also need another file for that LOT to work in game right? Is it a DAT file or what? Obviously I know I didn't make anything that has a description or a thumbnail so you can see it in the ingame menu (like parks or landmarks menu) So is it a DAT file I have to make so I can see the LOT? Or what am I doing wrong? Once I can get past this... I can do the rest of the tutorial.

And once I get there, I will have another question so I might as well ask it now.

LIke you said I have to make it right where I want it, so does that mean I have to decide every place I want to plop this lot before I make the overhang? Or will I be able to plop it freely once it's made?

EDIT2; Nevermind to all of that! Success!

You don't need a .datfile, but a lot.

Ok, first you have to make the lot in the LE (LotEditor)

    - Open the LE and choose a 1x1 park from the *choose lot to edit * window that openes with the LE at the same time. Let's say the *Pz1x1_cement* would be a fine choice.

    - Click on OK (window closes) and the lot will be found in the right picture. Now choose the *Basetexture* from the menu tongues on the middle left, another window opens, click then on *add item* and choose the texture you want, then click on OK. The window closes and the new texture will be on your lot on the right picture and the one on the top-left.

    - Now click on *Save as* on the bottom left and give it a name in the new window, then click OK. The window closes and the lot is saved in the MyDocuments/SC4/Plugins folder.

    - Exit LE.

Your lot can be found in your parkmenu in the game now, probably not far from the Maxis 1x1 cementpark, almost at the beginning.

From here on, just continue and follow dsrwaht316 tutorial, the link can be found in Ripplejet's last post above.

That should do the trick. Good Luck

LIke you said I have to make it right where I want it, so does that mean I have to decide every place I want to plop this lot before I make the overhang? Or will I be able to plop it freely once it's made?.quote>

First decide where to build ALL these lots when they are still 1x1's (meaning before you modify them). Once well thought of where they needed to be placed and where the overhanging texturetiles will be, you can modify the tile as described in dsrwaht316 tutorial.

Sorry about the no reply, MrB. The ones on pg.6 are A380, I want A340. Here's the pic if you need it.

    A340%20PROP%20PACK%20new.JPG

By the way, I only need A340-300 and A340-600 with 5x5 RMIP 747 base textures with ACB-VLT's Jetways.

(sorry for the long request, bud).

Ok ,thinboy66, I think I will be able to help you a little bit. I can't do ALL of these, but I am willing to make some from the A340-300 and 600 series and maybe 3 or 4 Cargoplanes, if you help me out.

I need the links for the plane props (A340-300/ A340-600 and Cargo), links for the RMIP 747 base textures and links for the ACB-VLT's Jetways.

Then explain me exactly how you imagine the lots, like size, props etc....and give me a few weeks (maybe 2 or 3)

    How does that sound?

OK, I decided to not do the cargo planes first.

Here is the link to the plane props.

Here is the link to the ACB-VLT Terminals and Jetways

    There are 2 parts

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=18479&v=1

For RMIP there is a lot of things to download, since RMIP Vol 4 requires Vol1-3

Thanks thinboy66, I will have a look at those links later this coming week. I still need to know what kind of lots (landmark or park) sizes of the lots and whether the planes are on runways, parkings or at the terminals etc. Need to know these details first.

Thanks Barby, I will have a look. 2.gif

EDIT:  I found the plane props. No problem downloading the props, textures etc, no matter how much, I will use them in a virgin pluginfolder for these lots only and then simply delete them once done with making the lots.

GEEEEEEEEZ.........46.gif6.gif..............just to make these lots I needed 82,7 Mb's of dependencies.......lol.......Am I ever glad I don't play with these airport props........that would surely slow down my computer.

    thinboy66,

Now that I have all the props and textures (I hope), I still have to know what kind of lots I put them on.

    Lot-Sizes......

    Park or LM menu.........

    with or without walkway..........

what kind of props on the lot..............

    etc...........

    Thanks
