Making large lots

Does zoning large residential and commercial lots (by holding ctrl and zoning) do anything.

I can never get them to develop

Well, if you have the right conditions for the huge residential and commerical skyscrapers, yes they would come in. Can u tell me how many people are in your city and your hospital, fire, police, and education coverage is? Can you just show some pictures of your city? It would really help me out.

Well, if you have the right conditions, they pop up. You have to have an urban environment. (That basically means you have to have skyscrapers or medium-sized buildings around it). Also, you have to have good education, good fire and police coverage, and smart sims. Also, have some parks around, that keeps up desirability.
