BAT, DESC and MODEL?

can someone explain to me what the difference is and which one goes in my plugins folder

why are some of my downloaded buildings brown boxes that say Sim City on the side of them.

.SC4Model files are the model of the BAT, the file that contains the models and the textures after it has been rendered

.SC4Desc files are what tell the game what the model is.

.gmax files is the original model before the model has been renedered.
