sim city wont start

i will click ont the icon and i see the picture of the bridge, but then... nothing. does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

This is probably a machine problem.  Describe your machine in detail.  Also, what version of the program are you running, and have you got the updates?

im runnin sc4 deluxe on a sony viao centrino laptop and never had any issues before today

Is your disk stratched alot? How long have you been using the disk? Did you install any programs recently that could affect your game?

the disk is not too scratched, what i would consider normal usage, been using the disk for the better part of a year, no programs have been installed since sc4

how big is your plugins folder?  (just right click on it, and ask for properties to find out).  You may be running into memory shortages. 

What operating system are we discussing, and how much RAM does that laptop have?

Have you got lots of disk space?  You should set your virtual memory to the maximum allowed:

XP 4096MB; Vista 4095MB.

A laptop is not an ideal machine for this game.  It is a memory and CPU hog.
