Simple question about Maxis Buildings and zoning

I have always wondered how big the biggest Maxis commercial and residential building are. I have seen about 4x3 size buldings.

Then I have a question about zoning. I have downloaded a 4x4 growing building. Can the building grow to a place like this: (One mark = one aquare, arrows show the directions)

Or do I need to use Ctrl and zone exatly 4x4 square?

I'm assuming that "--" and "~~" is one square, right?  Then yes the building will grow if you have the demand and desierablilty, but more likely you'll get the smaller lots first.

If you want the building to grow asap, then use the ctrl zoning method.

That is only half the truth. The biggest growable lot in-game and the biggest you can make with Lot Editor is 6×6. However, using the Reader (or the yet to be released "X Tool") you can make virtually any size of growable lots.

Mostly the biggest R and C lots in the game are 4×4. There are a few larger ones though.

The R$$$ mansions grow on lot sizes up to 4×6.

Among the CO$$ the McClellan and the Fisk Insurance can grow on 4×5.

Among the CS$$ and CS$$$ there are a couple that go up to 6×6.

Thanks! While I was zoning I noticed a problem with the reward space station: I can't get it. I have 30 000 high tech jobs and the research center but for some reason it's still locked. What I'm doing wrong?
