I don't care because I hate the Giant's, but I do care because it was against my team, man! I'm a huge Padres fan, and I even have an autographed Mike Piazza baseball! Why couldn't it have been against those stupid Dodgers? Oh well, the Padres (I believe) are still numero uno i the Western Division. Leonardo

I saw Bond's tie the record. I need to take a shower after watching that scumbag. The commisioners reaction was classic, I think I even saw a little yawn in there. As far as I'm concerned the record still belongs to Hammerin' Hank!!!

The sportscaster here said "Yes, they actually cheered him".

Guess he was expecting them to boo him.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

I'm sure there was Giant's fan's who made the trip don the coast. Back in June the Giant's had a good contingency at Fenway.

The Sox are in Seattle tonight. They played the Bond's HR on the jumbotron and the place broke out in boo's... Bring it on Topcliffe. The Sox have the pitching to get by anyone this year. Our pen is silly it's so good. And that was before they added Gagne. Braves, Mets and Cubbies are the only teams that scare me from the NL.

Who cares? Did you see that game against the Astro's a few days ago? Eleven runs in the first inning! I'm not saying it's going to happen again, but we get quite a few runs against whoever we play. On topic again, I suspected not too many people would cheer him on. Leonardo

It's sad to see Barry Bonds, if he really didn't do steriods, then hes going through all of this for nothing, after all it was never proven that he did it. On the other hand, if he did cheat, and he knows it, and he knows that he dosen't deserve it, but he takes it anyway, then he is a scumbag.

Not cool....i really hate to see bonds get the record. As far as records go, i don't consider them ligit anymore. I will always consider Babe Ruth as the greatest hitter of all time. 714 homers and he spent his first six seasons as an ace pitcher, without any steroids, too.

I hate Bond's so much that I probably would of thown something at him. Even before the steroids came into play, he has always ben such a miserable mad man.

It is a fact that he did steiods. He testified to using them in a federal grand jury. The problem is that grand jury testimony is confidential. His testimony was illegally leaked so MLB can't use that against him or else they could be sued.

I think your right. And even then, I'm sure there are some Giants fans that are against him. It's ok.. few more years and A-Rod will be passing Bonds and we will be sitting here talking about how A-Rod cheats in other ways.

Yes. I was at a BBQ restuarant and there was a TV in the corner showing the game. I couldn't believe my eyes *literally*.

Anyway, I think people who use illegal substances to achieve a record should not count in the hall of fame. Barry Bonds is one of them.

    Thats a damn fine question....

a better question would be if they will allow his name to be in the records without [Content]

long story short...atleast he didn't do it in Los Angeles...besides its easier to hit home runs in San Diego...

    more heat/humidity...

    A-Rod got his 500th too.

    He's only 32.

    He should surpass Bonds eventualy.

Barry Bonds' hat size has increased since he started playing. That doesn't happen naturally. It's the juice.19.gif

A lot of people at the game were holding up pieces of paper with asterisks on them. What was really amusing was that one of them caught that home run ball. A true subscriber to that philosophy would have thrown it back, but no, he was smiling widely, holding it up for the cameras and everything. After all, he's probably going to sell that ball for quite a pretty penny. Just goes to show you how vulnerable people's beliefs and morals are to the prospect of a few benjamins. 21.gif

Steroids doesn't necessarily make you hit the ball harder, it only makes you recover from swinging the bat hard, thus making you more prepared to hit anything.

I'm sure Barry will be relieved from the media controversy when his record is passed.

Meh, Alex Rodriguez will obliterate it, regardless is Bonds took steroids or not.

Whats funny is that he hit 500 the same day that Barry reached 755.

In the end, EVEN though i'm a native SoCal resident, long live the empire of the New York Yankees!

I think most people would like bonds more and have more support for breaking this record dispite the

steriod rumors if he wasnt so self centered and treated speaking

to the media as a chore.

A little friendliness goes a long way.

I really dislike the fact that he's tied Hank Aaron. I never liked Bonds, because of his ego, his self centeredness, and he isn't a humble player. And he's definitely on steroids, he's cheated. I do hope Alex Rodriguez obliterates that record! 4.gif

Well, he just hit number 756 about ten minutes ago, against pitcher Mike Bascik of the Washington Nationals.
