I'm of the opinion that the legal drinking age should be lower than the legal driving age. Being able to drive a machine that goes upwards of (legally) 110 km/h on a highway takes much more maturity and responsibility than drinking a beverage that will make you go loopy for a few hours, and give you a terrible headache the next morning. 16 for drinking and 18 for driving seems right to me. As for voting and smoking, those should stay at 18. If you're legally considered an adult at that age, you should be given the ability to decide to kill your lungs off and vote in the elections.

As for IQ restrictions, that's just silly. I knew many book-smart people in High School that were as mature as a twelve year old, and many who struggled in classes, but weren't going out and getting smashed on a weekly basis, dodging the cops while smoking their pot and vandalising this and that. While it is a set stereotype that kids who struggle in school = bad, that is not always the case.
