What's up, my cool cats? Welcome to the hip new lounge where you can post your poetry, or just get an ultra-veggie recyclo-smoothie of your choice! I guess I'll start off with this little poem of mine:

We're all heading toward damnation,

with all our problems and pollution.

We can't even trust our nations,

and there ain't no simple solution.

We've been ruining our great Earth,

and all the problems are the same,

whether it's Chicago or Perth,

it's cosmically all a game.

There's no running or hiding.

You take it head-on with what you've got.

The laws, there's no abiding

when the panic spreads and the Earth gets hot, hot, hot.

*hears lots of snapping from the audience*

Here's something i wrote more than a year ago in dedication to one of my friends who died recently. He caught a couple of my baseball games.

Who lives and who dies

must be determined behind dull gray eyes.

In a careless fog that obscures what should be

from reality. (xxx b. 1985 d.2006)

There can't be such things as the good and bad

morals and religions are fads

foul fading facades functionally defunct

without fun yet fully funded

fixated on the fiendish fallacy

of combining gods

with reality

my apologies for somehow missing this forum and posting my wares exclusively in the other poetry forum! I will dig up one from the archives or write a new one just for here, but in my next post as I am on the run at the moment. I don't want to be redundant by reposting what I already have online thus far. 

Topcliff:  It kind of reminds me of that Chris Rhea(?spelling) song from years back, "The Road To Hell" except that I found the song rather melodramatic and overdone. 

I'll try my hand at busboy if you don't mind someone who makes their own hours and occasionally forgets about customers, and who can be surly from time to time...

Woohoo!   Another poet thread!  Woot!

Here's one I posted in my thread.

I think this one means a lot to me.  Its a poem called "While Angels Are Falling Asleep".  I just found it in the depths of my notebook last night.  Its mainly about...angst, depression, and at the end its about suicide.  Very dark I guess.  I remember the night I wrote this, me and my dad had a big fight and nothing was making sense during life then.  I guess you could say it wasn't a fun time of my life.  The poems about a month old, and I still love it.

I'm sitting in the strangest places

Seeing all these stranger's faces

The shadows are dying and I sit here crying

While my angels are falling asleep

I search for answers in hellish abyss

Crawling around but somethings amiss

Try to confide with what lyes inside

While my angels are falling asleep

I'm falling around in my remains

Of happy and laughing but now its just pains

I regret my decision for this last incision

While my angels are falling asleep

I dispose of these things but on the contrary

I realize these things are just primary

Gave all my heed to this desperate need

I'm still sitting here, I stop my heart

I've been waiting for this right from the start
