Panne was first colonized on April 23, 1865. The First city wasn't really a city at all, but a quaint little farming community  aptly named  Prospect Heightsprospectheightsjan27021yy0.jpg

As time passed, the younger adults wanted to branch out, get away from the farm life. They wanted to move to a busier place, more hustle and bustle. They had heard of a city near by in which they could start anew called San Fernando. sanfernandooct203118271wx0.jpg

This is the earliest known photograph of San Fernando. Historians agree that the great fire of 1925 Destroyed nearly all photographs and records of the time. We know what little we do know from accounts passed down by generations as well as diaries and newspaper clippings.

(More comming soon!)

(Thanks Amerikaner and Granto, I appreciate the support!)

We'll come back to San Fernando in a bit, in the meantime lets take a look at a shot of Far Rockaway, Established in 1935 as a beach resort, residential homes began being built soon after. Wealthy Sims from all over decided this would be the ideal place to live, beautiful beach front, pristine weather and small local businesses to support the local economy.farrockawayjul25zl8.jpg

Far Rockaway still looks today practically the same as it did back the old days. The reason? the lawmakers and the wealthy residents decided to keep everything exactly the same! Of course over the years upgrades to the foundations of the buildings as well as road and street upgrades were made. The sewage system was upgraded in 1979, this is notable because during the reconstruction process, 14 workers were trapped underground and perished. farrockawaynov150211828ih7.jpg
