Still workin' on the Tower I began a new project few days ago, the Leipzig Central Station. It's Europe's biggest terminus with alltogether 31 platforms and it's nearly 100 years old(It was opened 1915.As far as I now, 1. October is the 100. birtday). But enough of that, here's a small preview what I got so far.

Many of the details I have to imagine because there are nearly no close-ups, maybe I'll do soon a side trip to Leipzig...

I thought europe's biggest station was Paris Gare de Nord (3rd in the world after shangai and new york)... . Funny. Probably the english think it's waterloo station or something!

Anyway it's very cute! How big is the station? Good luck with this project, although I doubt you would need luck, as you took an exellent start... Even as a normal building it looks nice.

20.gifGare du Nord is the world's third busiest train station as far as I know, maybe Leipzig Central is the largest terminus building, not station at all... I don't know exacly.

Your BAT skills are really improving !!!
I've always liked your building styles. Glad you're making this a CS$$$ and that you've learned very well how to add jobs to landmarks. There aren't enough nice CS buildings on the STEX (imo). Don't forget to add CS$ and CS$$ jobs to your lot as well. Not everyone is qualified for an executive level job. Thanks. Always looking forward to your next creation. And, oh yeah, ... I like mid-size buildings too. Not enough of those either on the STEX (imo).

@ /zumi/: I like the entire roof! It has a very interesting shape, and the roof junk looks great, too. The roof texture isn't bad, either- in fact, the only improvement I can imagine could only be achieved by actually skinning the roof, i.e. by making textures that have exactly the right shape and size to fit onto the parts of the roof. But it looks good as it is.

Concerning the textures of the main building, are those final? I'm asking because they may end up looking a bit too smooth in game.

Anyway, once more you managed to create a really fascinating building, and I'm looking forward to downloading it already. Good job! 44.gif

No, the textures aren't final and
I'm also thinking that this light brown texture looks too smooth, I will give it more structure.

    @shooner2: I wanted to render the Xeon this weekend, but I have some problems with blue lights... green and yellow show up perfectly, red is very pale and blue doesn't show up at all. I don't know why...

    my pc is rendering the Xeon Trading Center at the moment. its working fine and it seems that there are no problems atm.9.gif
     
    i think it will be done at sunday, 4pm middle european time (9am central standart time, if i'm right)

    I really like the Isat Hotel. The shapes of the building are not seen in Sim City before so this will be a nice addition. The roof junk looks good too, but let me suggest a little improvement.

    Skyscrapers never have roof junk added in a way that makes it visible when seing the building from the ground at some distance. This is mostly solved by extending the walls over the roof surface or to build fake walls. Like those examples:

    You can see this on most scyscrapers like Mies Seagram Building. There are blank walls on top of the building to hide the roof junk.

    This advice will be very helpfull for me and for my next buildings, thx.
    But I think that you can't see the roof junk from the ground.
    Because I think that the higher rJ is rather in the center of the roof.
    But if you want i can make the walls a bit highter. 31.gif

    Nice detail on the balconies. It's easy to take a floor and array it up many floors for a skyscraper, than apply the random nightlight tool, but adding that sort of detail takes a long time. It's very effective.

    Oh and one more thing about realism... those sun-blinds are not very realistic. In real life, sun-blinds like those on a tall building would not stand the strong winds! Maybe you could make some more solid construction like slideable blinds?
