Crime is a bit out of control in my city, just look at the pic.  I have a lot of police stations and 2 city jails, but crime just stays high.  Any ideas?

you should look at the number of crimes compared to the number of arrests. And from what i can see you have a fairly low crime rate. But to answer the question. Turn off legalized gambling if you have that, make sure there is enough room in your jails, but the most important thing is actually education. smart sims = low crime rate.

And jails are only necessary if your police stations have too many prisoners. Two seems a bit too much.

You can increase the effectiveness of the police by using the "crime doesn't pay" mod.

    Here.

I think it's quite nice, it doesn't remove crime but rather makes it a bit more reasonable i think.

Isn't the level of crime the result of low income and low education? I guess the solution would be to increase the education and income levels. Of course, cheating helps too :-)
