Stupid question here about downloading....

Hi, I'm new here and have never, ever downloaded any custom content for SC4.  Could someone please tell me what folder to unzip them to, or any other special instructions for downloading?  I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

in your docs folder you will find a sim city folder.. within you find a plugin folder.. most of files found in stex are unziped to this folder.. I recomend you to create a folder for each donwload instead of unzip all together.. it would became a mess then

some files can especify where to unzip them, so the best is to read te readme

You should have a separate downloads folder away from the game for downloads, organized by source.  In there, you should unzip stuff by category, then move the necessary items to your plugins.  You don't need much of the stuff that comes with a download in your plugins.  You only need to add .sc4lot, .sc4desc, .sc4model, .dat, and .dll files.  Everything else is documentation.

By weeding out the extraneous stuff you will save loading time for the game.
