A VERY weird thing happened to my city the other day, so i decided to put it on Simtropolis. It's pretty extensive, so let me start from the beggining.

Up till this point my city had excellent commute times (2~3 min., thnx to the NAM). I randomly queried a building in a suburban area. It said the commute was long. Ok, its far from the downtown area, so this  is unsurprising. Then I queried a hi-rise in the city area. Commute:Long 42.gif

What the heck? I looked at my commute chart to see the average commute...

I don't have an exact number, but it was somewhere in the 900 billions (seriously). A few days later, EVERY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN MY CITY HAD A NO JOB ZOT !!! 14.gif(still seriously) In a matter of weeks, my 200,000 populace was reduced to 40,000. My city became a ghost town! It was like a mini-depression!

I started tearing down abandoned buildings, anticipating a comeback of sims. Then I had to find out what caused this torrential economy collapse. It was my MT system: for some reason EVERY MT building (GLR stations, toll booths, bus stops, ferries, etc.) had 0 efficeny. They didn't display any number for capacities and matinence costs. The entire system was invalid. The onbly answer at the time was to replace all of those buildings. All of them (still being serious here). This fixed the problem, and my city is back to normal.

I just still haven't figured out what caused this awful mess.

I had something similar happen to my rail network in one of the burbs. Fortunately, most sims drove cars so the effect was not even noticable. What happened was the rail stations and lines was not receiving any money, even after adjustings funds.

In another incident, I had an entire city where the roads nid not sync with the ground. This dsynce was so small that if could not be seen. The comp still had all the traffic patterns. The roads just could not be UDI

In my city it couldn't be the funding, because I dont think ive ever touched the MT funding adjuster.

The NAM adjustments will confuse the game a little, leading to think that the commute times had shot up. Oh, and abandoned buildings are bad for the city, so bulldoze 'em ASAP.
