Hey folks, as the topic suggests its another Bug/problem.

Basically I'll start up SC4, load into a city play a little or a lot and then the program shuts down.

No errors, no logs nothing.

I'm running on Windows Xp sp2 Pro edition, I checked my system logs it doesnt even list their being an event or problem being recorded around the time of this occuring, every time its happened.

So far I've tried patching it (no luck) and reinstalling it, Still no good.

This is the first time i've run into this problem and looking up the EA site and looking over your own site doesn't provide any hints as to whats going on here...

At first i thought it might be because I was Alt-Tabbing out, but it does it even when I don't do that.

As for system info,

Amd Opteron 175,

A8N-SLI

2GB Crucial Memory in Dual channel mode.

Gainward 7600GT (256mb)

Creative Xi-Fi Fatality

2x Sata HDD's

1xDVD RW

System is stable in all other aspects and i've not had problems with anything other then SC4.

IF you need any more information just ask and I'll happily provide it 4.gif

Its late, i'm tired forgot to add,

I have original Simcity 4000, the rush hour expansion, both EU and i patched using the SKU2 version patch.

Will wait to see your log to be sure, but just copy in the first 20 lines or so.  If you have an access violation, you probably haven't enough virtual memory.  See the sticky above on how to fix that.

If that spec is a laptop, there is also a chance of an overheat shutdown.  The game runs cpu's pretty hard.

What version are you running?  Is that just SC4 or did you not update our RH/Deluxe from the Simcity site?

I have a legit version of Simcity 4000, EU/UK edition, I installed the RH expansion after installing it then used the SKU2 patch from the website 4.gif

Its not the delux edition, both came in their own DVD boxes

Your dump shows the wrong version number.  It should be 1.1.638.0.  Are you running with a noCD patch?  This is not updatable.

    bizzare o.O

And no I'm not using one.

Like I said, installed Simcity 4 (Serial deleted)

then installed rush hour (Serial deleted)

Then patched using the one i was linked to on their website, (SKU2 for the EU)

The crashing seems to have stopped, but this has me interested 4.gif if theirs any more info you want just say.

I've not cracked it, or changed the EXE.

Beats me.  I don't think that's the right version number.  As far as I know, all updates lead to 1.1.638.0 NOB

P.S.  You should never show your serials on a public board.  Against policy, and very insecure.

OK I don't know how to do anything with computers but i know that the exact same thing discussed earlier is happening to me and i don't completely comprehend how i can fix mine too. ( what info i have to get and how i have to get it to determine the problem) I do know its hella frustrating to lose 30 minutes of building time because the computer picked u out of the program though

Sorry to have alarmed you but thats not the serials, their the CD part number.

If you look at your cd's you'll see them printed on it.

Different regions and versions would most likely have different part numbers 4.gif

On a side note.. redownloaded the patch, and reapplied it, it looks like it updated it to 638 so i'm guessing something went wrong the first time it patched.

Playar2613:  You mean you have exactly the same information on your dump as shown above?

Did you try a full uninstall, clean up, and reinstall with the updates?  Because that was the solution developed here.  If you are still having a problem, document it in a new thread.  Push the "New Topic" button in the blue header, and put in your data.
