Josh was a reliever with the Reds for a while - and many had hopes for him, as he pitched rather well, in '04 and '05. Unfortunately, the next year he came in at what some team officials deemed overweight, released him, and the Cardinals picked him up. I was always disappointed with that move, as I kind of liked the guy.

Seeing this is a rather large disappointment, too, though. Some may remember Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa was arrested for drunk driving this spring (actually, he was caught sleeping at an intersection).

It seems every few years, an alcohol related death shakes up major league baseball for a while - but it continues (Billy Martin. If I am not mistaken, Tim Crews and Steve Olin were drunk when killed in a boating accident).

It would be nice to think that, some day, we will get the picture that drinking and driving is a remarkably bad idea.
