I just thought,Of this idea for a thread.So feel free,to tell about your city urban renewal.My 

City a few years a decided to tare down an old  drawbrige down becuse it was geting to old and the drawbridge broke down a lot and costed a lot of money to maintain and do to a lot of people where geting sick and tired of raising drawbrige for every hurricane so the city decided to build a new but it took three to four years to build.

In my city today is under construccion a masive transportation system, many of the principal avenues of my city are actually under renovation.

My city, (in an oil sultanate) went through what we called "project 80's" where a sleazy town that had grown a bunch in the 1970s got its act together. By the time it was done, and all the buildings were built...oil prices crashed, and my fair city had an economic recession.
