Transfer Depots

I would like to be able to have a lot that is a transfer depot for trucks.  It would need to have trucks in and trucks out.  It would also have to act as a product sink for both farm and industrial products.  Freight coming in should be able to either be marketed directly from the depot (farmer's market, industrial outlet stores) or transferred to outbound trucks for carriage to other sinks, such as ship ports, rail freight, or neigbor connections.

Can this be done in SC4 (as a rather fancy lot)?  Or must it wait for further developments?

First thing that comes to mind is the fact that freight never goes anywhere other than off the map !! Subsequently I think that the trucks IN part of your equation could only be achieved by modding a lot to behave like a freight station. The trucks OUT part is different....as we all know mikeseith has made several BATs that "spawn" various makes of car...so in theory it should be just as easy to make a lot/BAT "spawn" trucks. It might be possible to produce a lot that spawns trucks that travel to another lot designed to receive them, maybe by manipulating part of the UDI code, which then produces a result....but that kind of thing is WAY over my head.

I kind of thought that would be likely.  Its way over mine too.
