Greetings all. I've been playing the SC series for years now (since I was about 8 or 9). My gaming addiction has been WoW for the past two years and am starting to burn out of it (anyone who plays may know what I mean.) Anyhow, I've picked up SC4 again. I discovered this site trying to find info about getting specific zones to develop. (Awsome site, BTW) So I started looking at CJs people have posted. My question is this: For those regions that have been modeled after actual cities (and in general have hugly complex transport systems whether modeled after a real city or not) are the region/city built on the normal "build a bit, wait a bit" strategy or are they built through massive influxes of cheat cash. (To be clear, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other, I'm just wondering.) My main city is ~65k in pop with a fairly high R$$ & R$$$ population and a strong mix of C$$, C$$$, I-Mfg & I-HT. IMO this city is working out well, but I've got a looooong way to go. Haven't even touched on subways or any other mass transit beyond busses. One of the things I am finding difficult to understand is inter-city trade. Can I start moving my dirty industry out of my main city and still have it affect my residents as if it was (as it will be) just a couple tiles outside of my main city? Once again, thanks for the great site and awsome resources.

    Hey, welcome to Simtopolis! 9.gif

    1. There is a way to move all your garbage to another city tile. If you have a big residential city, you might want to move all the garbage from that city over to an industrial city tile next door. This will improve your desirability in the residential city because there is less garbage, and also you can get income for it.

    2. Most of the city journals showcased here contain some type of cheat (don't deny it ! 3.gif). But there are some that do not either. It all depends on your playing style. If you like cheating, then by all means, find some mods here on the site to cheat with and create a city of your choice! When you cheat you have more control over what your city could look like, or how it runs itself.
