Selecting building sets

Maybe someone with Rush Hour can answer me this. I''ve heard you can select which building set to use in the game now. If you select a set such as New York, and zone an area, will that area remain New York even if you then switch to, say, Houston and zone another area? Or is the currently selected set used for all new buildings regardless of the area? I''d rather the zone kept the set I had selected when I zoned it personally, so I can make districts with similar style buildings.
Also, I don''t want to know the names of the buildings etc, but which set has the biggest commercial skyscrapers? (so I know which I should use in the center of downtown) I''m guessing Houston since it''s the most modern, but it could also be New York or Modern European. Or are the tallest buildings in each set fairly equal?
Thanks.

There is an option to pick new build styles every 5 years or build all styles at once. I haven't played long enough but I'm sure you can change them.

Yeah, but if say a New York building gets replaced by a different building (eg: a bigger one because the density has increased), and the current set is Houston, will it get replaced by another New York building or by a Houston building?

Can somebody post a screenshot of the interface that lets you choose what building types to use, and exactly how you access it?

The part where the skyscrapers are concerned will be hard to answer at this point of time because most people have just got the game and their cities would still be small. Maybe after a week or so people will be able to find out ALL the buildings in the European set and then we can answer that question of yours. Secondly, you can't SELECT which tileset but rather you can decide how often the tileset revolves, or you could decide to have all the tilesets at once. It's a bit disappointing, I wanted to use the Houston and European tileset all the way 7.gif

Dang! Thought you could select which ones you want. I was hoping to have different districts use different tilesets (eg: I have a europa area which I'd like to use the europe tileset but not use that set much elsewhere). I'll prob just keep it on the normal revolving mode then.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a feeling that the tileset will stay the same throughout the entire life of the zone. So if I have a NYC building on stage 1 it'll progress through all stages in NYC no matter what the current tileset is based on the rotation. Note, this is pure speculation as my RH is still in transit. However this seems to be the most logical concept. So I guess you could either zone all areas at once while game is paused to insure they have the same set or just wait until the tileset you want is current if you want to add to an existing area to keep the tileset the same. Based on the original SC4 I believe this is how it'll work.

I dont have RH yet, but i do know that the tallest building is Pedriana Pharmeceuticals, in the chicago tileset, followed closley by Lind Entertainment in the NY tileset, than Cahalane Communicatons in houston.  Looks like "age" of buildings has NOTHING to do with height

i think i know wat your talking about. only way to do wat your talking bout from wat i think, is to make the buildings you wanna keep historical. i dont have rush hour yet so i dont know if that can be done.

I dont have a screen to show, but i have districts in one of my cities that each have a different tile set of development. Its not very hard to do, just time, patience, and the make historical button. PM if you want details
