Okay, so I've become a mac person... and now I'm fully converted thanks to my success installing Sim City -- I can breathe easy.  But can I load my old PC regions in the mac?  I copied 'em over to the appropriate folder but that didn't seem to work. 41.gif

Yes, the EA version and the Aspyr port read game files the same, performance is a whole different matter.

I'm guessing you transferred them to the wrong Plugins folder, PC to Mac translation are:

MyDocs/.../Plugins (pc) = Documents/.../Plugins (mac) This is the one to transfer for Regions

Programs/.../Plugins (pc) = Applications/.../Plugins (mac)

Did you get Windows installed? or are you playing on the Mac side? Don't give up on the Bootcamp/Windows installation, once you get it up and running, the game is much better on the Windows side.

I actually got a copy for mac, though I haven't given up on bootcamp yet. I had transferred them to the REGIONS folder... I guess that was wrong. So, I have to put them in the plugins folder like all the rest of the STEX files? Innnnnteresting...

Hmmm... didn't work. I wonder if maybe I installed the game wrong, or put it in the wrong place. Unless... we are talking about the same thing, right? I want to load my old cities+regions from my PC on the new mac...

No, I wrote that wrong. DONT put them in the Plugins, they go in Regions.

    My Documents = Documents

    Programs = Applications

was all I was trying to say, whether it's Regions, Plugins, etc.

Hi.  Did copying the region folder (and city files, plus whatever else is in the region folder) to the mac equivalent let you play the region created on the PC?

I copied the region and its files from the PC to the Mac into the Regions folder.  There is apparently a Regions folder both from the Documents and the Applications directory.

Applications: Simcity 4 Deluxe: SimCity 4 Data: Regions

    Documents: Simcity 4: Regions

I can't tell if the two separate Regions folders are aliased to each other or not.

    When I try to play:

I see more than one Region called "Timbuktu" (from the PC).  When I select either, they start with the default region: does not reflect the population or cities I created in my PC region.

-The Plugins folder just seems to have .png files, no city files.

    -I don't see a Downloads folder

**Should there be two different Regions folders on the mac?

Thanks for any comments or tips.

    Fred
