12 lane freeway

I built a 12 lane freeway through my downtown, using express/collector principle. The inner 6 lanes are expressway which passes through downtown, and the outer 6 connects to downtown commercials. On the picture you can see the morning commute, where cars in the inner lanes are on their way to a connecting city's industry, and cars in the outer lanes are on their way to work in the downtown commercial area.

Ah, this reminds me of the double-decker highway in downtown Austin, except in Austin the inner ground highway has exits and the outer elevated highway are the express lanes.

I use a 12-lane highway in my region. As opposed to using a side-by-side method, I use the multi-highway trick, with the outer lanes spaced from the central highway. This allows for better intersections... see here one of my main intersections:

I made the local lines into an avenue to cross the river like that.. there are many options availalbe, such as running the local lines into a one-way tunnel (the tile gap is useful), while there is a cloverleaf...
