Earthquake in region

 Hallo everybody,

here's another question I don't know the answer to:

I restarted a projekt I started with long time ago. While watching the regionmap I suddenly realised an regionwide earthquake happening. Everything was shacking a bit.

I was scared at first. I started several cities to watch the causes, but nothing was distroyed nowhere. All cities I took a look to where existing and working properly.

What is this earthquake all about, what does it want to tell me? Is it a warning of global warming, or stuff like this? I allways offer masses of space to the industry, you know?

Or is it a bug?

If anybody has seen this before, please tell me what you think of this.

It`s done that to me once, a long while back...

I was innocently viewing the Transportation Map in the Region View, when suddenly the entire block of land started shaking fit to rip itself apart. Stopped soon enough though, and as for you, no damage was found anywhere in the city...

I'd venture a guess as to this is some strange bug or glitch. Good thing it's nothing serious, but you should contact Customer Support, for glitches and stuff. I'd suggest searching your game files (usually in C:/Program Files/Maxis) and search for one of the little icons that have the little blue question mark. Click the "Contact Customer Care" or something like that, they'd tell ya what the heck this wierd thing is...

Hope it happens again, though - I like to imagine those pesky cities crumbling into flames... they irk me so MUCH!!!

Happened to me too once

I believe it a glitch that occures when the corners of the map touch the screen or something like that.

It happens all the time to me, especially when I finish rendering a map. Just tap an arrow key (to move the camera), and it goes away for me

Or does it mean, the mayor used some cheating? I did in that region (sorry).

(I do not think cheats are necessary, but for testing and learning it' o.k., I believe.)

Actually sounds like a power hiccup or a twinge from the graphics card.

Yeah, I get hiccups like that on rare occasion. I figured that's what they were because there was no accompanying sound like when using the earthquake disaster or like when the area shakes from a rocket taking off from the spaceport. Never had any apparent damage to the city or any computer issues such as crashes.
