(Granted, not the best pic, but it's Johnny Rockets.  I'm stunned there's no Johnny Rockets in STEX)

(I believe the original location of The Old Spaghetti Factory)

*This next pic (below) is not exactly a BAT, but this was parked outside of an Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant and I thought what a neat prop this would make.

I'm hoping to inspire any BAT-ers who may be reading this. I've found that the STEX is severely lacking in these types of buildings below. Without anything like them (except Goober's warehouses), it's pretty hard to create realistic outer suburbs. These are types of buildings I've always seen but have never found here (They would probably be CO$$). TCB_MWM.jpgPicture1-1.png The second one is from Yellow Pages maps' bird's eye view.

I'm hoping to inspire any BATers who are reading, I've found that the STEX is completely lacking in this type of commercial office building below (Goober's warehouses are similar, but these are more office-like). It's pretty hard to create realistic outer suburbs without them, because these are what I've seen around everywhere. I have a feeling these would be pretty easy to make, but I can't do them on my mac. I know that if I could BAT, I would make these first! Hey, I'm a newbie to the site, but I've been on my Maxis since 2001. I got the Deluxe Edition, and I've been utilizing as many lot and BAT's on STEX.

I have a few requests to make. The first is to the guy that does the MassPak Road Signs. I have some concepts for this. I got a few images

(Based off of the traditional Interstate System shield and a couple based off of the Texas Highway Sign), and I did a little dabbling on Photoshop. Check 'em out:

Regional Freeway Sign Concept:

regionalfreewaysignconcbf4.jpg

I'd like the following numbers: 3, 4, 5, 11, 15, 20, 22, 23, 24, 29, 31, 34, 35,

40, 41, 44, 45, 47, 50, 51, 55, 60, 63, 65, 69, 70, 73, 74, 75, 77, 80, 84, 85, 87, 90, 93, 95, 96.

Regional Turnpike Sign Concept:

regionalturnpikesignconxu3.jpg

Numbers: 1, 10, 59, 98, 99

Regional Freeway Bypass/Loop Concept:

freewayloopsignconceptla0.jpg

Numbers: For 5 (305, 705) For 20 (420, 920) For 24 (124, 624) For 35 (235, 535)

For 40 (240, 440, 740, 940) For 45 (145, 445) For 55 (255, 855) For 65 (465, 765)

For 70 (370) For 75 (375, 675) For 80 (180, 380, 680) For 85 (285, 785)

For 90 (190, 490, 590) For 93 (As pictured, 493) For 95 (295, 495, 695, 895) and for 96 (196, 596).

Regional Highway Sign Concept:

regionalhighwayconceptje7.jpg

Numbers: 1, 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 17, 18, 20, 21, 25, 28, 32, 33, 36, 39, 42, 43, 46,

49, 52, 53, 56, 57, 61, 64, 66, 67, 72, 73, 77, 78, 80, 81, 88, 89, 91, 92, 98, 101

Regional Loop/Spur Sign Concept:

regionalloopspurconceptpk2.jpg

Numbers: 203, 311, 220, 432, 343, 357, 266, 278, 381, 498

Hit me up via PM whenever your done or if you need the base images of each.

I'm also a truck driver, so if anyone can create the following:

TA Travel Center

Flying-J:

Loves Travel Stop:

Petro Stopping Centers:

I'd appreciate it so much. Also, if it isn't on the STEX, can anyone create another road system that's short of Maxis' highways

but above the avenues? Thanks!

I've got a few ideas. Most are bombs.

Like a table, with seperate range capabilities, for three elements; a=fire, b=instant destruction, and c=radiation.

And the ranges would be 0=none,1= small range [ roughly 10x10 ], 2=medium [full small city tile] 3= large [full medium city tile] 4= extreme [entire large city tile]. So for example, A4-B1-C3 would mean an entire large city instantly set alight [ even if set in a corner of a large city tile], a small range instantly destroyed, and an area the size of a medium city filled with radiation. And in a big pack, have all 15 possible types. Although not all off, or full destruction and any fire on at the same time, because the entire city would be demolished without fire, so any fire would be pointless.

Also, in my country we have trees up to 100 meters tall which have an oil in their sap which evaporates in the heat of our summers. This generates a thick haze around and over the top of the trees. This makes them hyper-flammable in the summer day, especially in huge clusters. Could someone maybe model & BAT clusters of eucalyptus trees, and the suggested bombs? And could you also try to make them .dat files, or at least Mac compatible? Cuz I'd really like to use them.

I'm surprise that there aren't any Minneapolis skyscrapers on the STEX {Sound of biting nails as I begin to fear I'm only ignorant}. There are a few that seem like an appealing challenge for the better BATers. The one I'd especially like to see is 225 South Six, which was formerly called US Bancorp Place and will be renamed Capella Tower this March. The building, at 774 feet (excuse my ignorance of far-superior metric system height), features a partial halo of panels that disguise rooftop equipment. The panels are lit at night, making the building a prominent object on the skyline as well as a unique challenge for nightlighting. The tower's base is an L-shape with 250-ish feet structures in similar style. Besides this tower, there are several other buildings, ranging from historic towers, i.e. the Foshay Building, to glass-clad skyscrapers similar to the above, i.e. the IDS Tower. AND Minneapolis has an excellent system of parks, the largest continuous skyway network in the world, and a new yellow-and-black light rail system. Its placement on the convergence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers and its proximity to Minnesota's capital, St. Paul, gives the entire region a unique feel that people should really be more interested in. Honestly, I find tall skyscrapers a little over done (besides, I can never get to stage 8 anyway), but really. Am I the only former-wrestler electing SimCity fan? {Cringes at the thought of future gubernatorial elections}

But anyway (I hope this picture thing works):

However, my all-time favorite building is located at 7760 France Ave S in Bloomington, Minnesota, known as the Minnesota Center. The general design is that of a rectangular building inside a stepped "L" at a 45 degree angle with the rectangle. The best image I found was a Google Maps street view, but I can't put a link to that here. It's the picture in the lower right-hand corner of this mosaic.

Y'guys've gotta do some of these buildings, doncha know? {Obnoxiously adds 4 more posts to prove his point}

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/3/37/20070727221350%21Minneapolis_skyline-20070805.jpg

@Smiting Bunnies: Fear my mosaic technicalities.

I don't know if this is the right place to do this kind of request. So please if there's a space for transit, move it.1.gif

The quick Paint I made below gives the idea of what I'm immagining: an el-train station over a road-crossing (similar to Madisson and Ashland, but without the extra platform they have) based on the default game's station model. Could also work as a bus stop. The grey lines going from the station to the streets are supposed to be ladders / escalators.9.gif

Request:

Ferrari dealer. The one that is already made here is not that pretty, and you cant see what it is.

Ferrari Dealer, with cars outside. Exotic looking, search google for reference pictures if necessary. This would be an awesome plobable for a high wealth neighborhood.

---

And, if time allow it.

Porsche dealer - Lamborghini Dealer

I agree with hostrup, a ploppable exotic car dealership would be incredible to add variety(maybe add bentley and rolls royce). My request is for flat buildings. Maybe 5 or more tiles long, by 2 tiles wide. Think Simtropolis HQ by onlyplace4. Some CO$$ some $$$, most mid rise. Don't mean to sound greedy, but I know what I like, and I also know that I you all have great talents. Thank you
