Controlling I-Ag Development

Using a region of about 250,000, I decided to restart/redevelop.  Instead of demolishing everything and restarting, I am going one city tile at a time.  There are maybe 6 tiles on a 4x4 Lg tile map which contain any development - all of which is R-~, C-~,  I-M and I-HT (ie, no I-Ag).  When I restarted in the do-over city, demand was expectedly high, so I zoned approx. 2/3 of the map I-Ag.  Sure enough they sprouted up, but my problem is that 90% of the farms that grow are (sorry, can't remember the name) the lot with the huge silos.  Is there a way to discourage certain farms from growing?  Basically, I want to keep the fields, but lose the repetitive ugly eyesores.

Hmm now that I'm thinking, could I just let it grow, then bulldoze the silos and plop a ploppable farm? Would this trick the simulation allowing the plopped farm to keep the fields?

I know it will get asked so, the NAM is installed, and I'm using the Industry Quadrupler.
