Earthquakes

Where are the earthquakes in my city aswell as tornados etc.  I don't see what the point of causing a disaster manually, can you not have them happen randomly? If this feature is not available to appear randomly then that's just stupid.

Yeah they appeared in Sim City 3000 though... Maybe someone has a modd for that.

However in answer to your question I dont think it's possible having the diasters start automatically as this is what Maxis intended. Then again do you really want your city destroyed after all your hard work and effort by a UFO attack ?

Well it depends on how destructive the UFO is, I've never messed around with it.  An option in game would have been good to at least turn certain diasters on and off.  I thought about perhaps invoking an earthquake once a year but then the main problem with that is, is you have to choose a location for the earthquake center. An earthquake with random location would have been better. These are simple obvious things that should have been in the game when released, obviously they're not going to release any patches for it now being so old.

For random earthquakes, there is a cheat.  I think it is risky money.  You get some §§, but you also get random earthquakes.

Fires and riots can still be started automatically. For fires, make sure your fire coverage is low, and for riots, make sure your mayor rating is in the red.

There both the most annoying disasters, random fires when your in the middle of city building and riots can take forever to slowly cural them ahhh. But I do miss the random tornado or earthquake it gave you somthing to do when you have millions in the bank and can't think of what to do next.

Yeah... Also how come they got rid of the whirlpools and hurricanes that were in Sim City 3000? I know they brought back the u.f.o. but why not anything else?? Maybe it would take up too much space...

I have CONSTANT earthquakes in simcity 4, what gives? does anyone know.
