SIMCITY No longer starts

Id just downloaded a lot of BSC type files and then as i went to load up simcity4 it loaded for a bit then went to a black screen for a bit then it crashed to desktop. I deleted everything i downloaded and system restored it to last night but it still does this. Can someone tell me what to do?

Yeh, Im thinking of a complete uninstall reinstall but thats isnt an option until i find the 2nd CD of simcity4.

I deleted most of the crap i downloaded and it still does not load. It opens a black screen with the normal mouse for about 10 seconds then crashes to desktop. Im just wondering whats the amount of MB on the 2nd CD?

Could you tell us EXACTLY what BSC lot you downloaded and caused the problems? Also, it would help if we knew every step of what you did to install it.

Could you please repost those links as it looks like they have been accidentally abbreviated.

I think it is unlikely that any plugin caused this problem, if as you say you deleted everything from the plugins folder. To be sure, just check that you have removed everything from both plugin folders (Programs and My Documents). Try loading the game again and if you get as far as the region screen then try starting a new clean region to see if you still have a problem.

Also what version of the game are you using. If you are not using Rush Hour (or Deluxe) then BATS will not work in your game at all.

Perhaps you installed an official update or patch that is not correct for your game (eg for the wrong region?).

i would suggest, since you have deleted everything in your plugins folder, to just re-install the game..

Actually I said the BATs would not work without RH (or deluxe). People who are only using the original version of SC4 can't use BATs.

Did your game work immediately after applying the patch? (ie after the patch but before adding the plugins)

Also have you installed or uninstalled any other software since you last successfully loaded SC4? Checked the CD and CD drive for dirt or damage, tried another CD drive etc?

Yeh, It worked. But i was playing around with the B.A.T cause im trying to get the buildings to show there lights at night time so i installed the BAT and unitstalled it and applyed some patches that where of random websites cause i cant access the patches on the simcity4 offical site becuase someone is using my CD key, And my CD is good not damaged and ive tried all 3 drives

hmmm that random websites doesnt sound to good, your files may have been corrupted...this seems to be out of my league..ill think on it

I think Uninstallation is my only option so ill have to find that 2nd CD becuase its somewhere in here

To recap, The 1st CD is required to authorise the installation (serial number entry), and the 2nd CD is required to run the game.
