new buildings

I just downloaded a whole city but when I put it on my map, instead of  some buildings a giant box appeared stated simcity.com on it. do I need to dl a patch or something to make it work?

You need to download prop files and/or BATs to make them show properly. Query the building and find out the name of it, then do a search on STEX (ST-Exchange above) to find it. Most of the buildings for download include read-mes which list dependancies (files used in making the lot) and you'll need to download what the building(s) requires.

More to the point, go back to the site you loaded this city from and see if it mentions any dependencies for the city.  If not, you should PM the poster of the city and complain.

This is one of the main reasons city downloads are unlikely to ever work.  Too many dependencies on a lot by lot basis.
