Hiya! I've had this great game on my computer for the past several years but never got into playing it much because a fair-sized city would barely load, much less run. Well, finally I got a great PC that will run things right so I decided to give it a whirl.

I checked out the ST-Exchange area yesterday and found some absolutely wonderful lots, buildings, etc. to add to my game, got them all installed in an orderly fashion and headed off on my journey of city-building.

Once I started my game I was given a message that I am missing a needed Plugin Pack ( 1868418734) for some of what I downloaded.

I went to the official Exchange today in hopes I might find something but no luck and figured asking on the BBS wasn't the best idea since that place is nearly a ghost town.

Anyway, before I turn this into a novel, I'd really appreciate it if someone can explain to me what this is I need and point me in the direction of finding it.

Thank you!

a plugin pack is basically a file (dependency that is needed ) in order for the building or lot to appear. i've always had trouble with the same thing untill i started reading the readme that is generally included in the download. usually with a well known artist like Simgoober or barbyw they will include a link in their readme that will take you(or at least tell you what you need in order for the plugin to work. i generally stay away from downloads that don't include a readme, (just because i don't want to spend the next 10 years wondering what i was missing and what that big brown box was in the center of my city) the dependency packs are available here on the stex, you just need to find which one your missing, then you should be set4.gif

Another good thing to install is Peg's Opps Mod. This will replace the ugly brown box with a multi coloured smudge which often will help someone who konws the lot (if you post it on the web) what is missing.

Zoiks! Looks like I need to learn how to format these messages! I checked the read-me files that came with everything I downloaded but missed this. It's sorted now. Thanks so much for your help!
