burst pipes

Hello all,

I have been a member for sometime but dormant. Excellent job on the site.

I have an issue with too many birst pipes. Before I could plug one, another starts. I can see aging pipes and I replace them when I see one. But the same section or something near to that will burst next time. 

Has this got anyting to do with the water funding?

Yup. You've pointed the reason out. The main problem lies with the monthly maintanence fee you provide for the pumbling works. The more you provide, the less the probability of the development of leaking pipes. If you overfund them, you get NO leaking pipes

exaclly, terrymunweihao is right. When ever you will lower the funding of watersupplies, you'll get bursted pipes all over the city. It's a pitty but you can't lower the funding of each waterpump, as you can at powerplant-menues.

The only sollution is not to build more waterpumps than necessary or payable. Do not lower the funding. The huge waterpump really is expansiv. Check out the need before you build it in your cities.

Doing everything like this I never had such problemes. At first I made the same mistake as you did.

If you do not touch your funding, you will not get any pipe bursts. Like gamble said, don't over build your water supply. Start out with the water towers and when you get five, build a small pump and delete the 5 towers. start adding towers again till you need to add your second pump. Once you have 5 pumps, build the large pump. Hope this helps.

thanks for the replies. boosting the funding did it. i put in a large pump becasxue i have close to 72K residents with lots of IM & IHT industries.
