When to put in airports?

Greetings-- I have a city of ca. 130K residents that's come to a complete standstill. I have two sections of commercial zones that have yet to develop anything, but commercial demand is still moderately high. Would putting in an airport help? Or should I wait until my advisors ask for one? I haven't received any messages from my advisors on the matter.

The advisors have their own agenda.  An airport would relieve any corrent commercial cap, so go ahead.

I generally put an airport out in the boonies away from everything.  This gives an opportunity to place some light rail to it from the downtown, and to build some medium commercial areas adjacent to it, when things get going.

Oh, and if you have an area that has commercial doldrums, drop a plaza or two into it.  Try and arrange it so that there is good traffic flow past your commecial stuff as well.

All airports do is relieve commercial office caps, the same way that shipyards relieve industy caps. So, you don't need an airport until you start getting near your commerce cap. You can check it using the Equinox_RCI_Query_Upgrade_Mod_V2.

Like N_o_body says, your advisor will begin whining way before you actually need one. So, check yourself before you waste money on it.

Where can I find this RCI Query mod?  I don't see it anywhere in the mod section.
