The modds won't begin to download for me. I've got broadband, and use firefox (but have tried with I.E).

Basically, when I press download, nothing at all happens, no new screen, no box, nothing.

Also, due to me being a complete '$%&^!', where, on this site are the basic instructions for using lot files? i.e. do I download them straight into the plugin folder, or unzip them, or require a special file? I realise several buildings will need props etc that need to be downloaded but other buildings such as billboards (which, in their description, states they will appear under the highway menu), appear under the parks and rec menu.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

Welcome to Simtropolis johnnycon! 39.gifI hope you have a great time here! 10.gif

With the Modds download problem, try clearing your cookies and internet cache and allow pop-ups from Simtropolis, this might work.

To download a plugin you extract (unzip) the download using Winzip,WinRAR or a similar archiver into your MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder and they should appear in game. If this doesn't work, the building you are trying to download might be a growable which means you have to zone some Residential, Commercial or Industrial zones and get to the required stage to make it grow or it could be a reward which means you have to meet some requirements before you can use it in your city. Some downloads have automatic installers in their zip file and if that's the case double click on it to open it and follow the instructions. If the building you downloaded comes with a ReadMe always read it as it contains useful information on how to get the building into the game.

Most downloads require Sim City 4 + Rush Hour or Sim City 4 Deluxe to work.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! I simply turned off cookie control on zone alarm.

Also, previously, i had been unzipping the downloads into the sim city4/plugins folders, not from mydocuments.
