Hiya, i'm getting a new laptop tomorrow, since the one i've got now is pretty rubbish, even though its quite new! And at the moment i'm working on the best region i've managed so far, and i don;t really want to lose it. I'm guessing there is a way to make sure i can use my existing region on my new laptop once sim city is installed, so im just wondering if somebody can tell me how to do it sucessfully. Thanks

make a copy of your regions folder (My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions) and both plugins folders (My documents/SimCity 4/plugins and Program Files/SimCity 4/plugins) and copy them in to your new installation on the new machine.

Quite simple. You could get an portable hard drive (that is about 250 GB or something enough to hold your regions, and you could use it to transfer from the old computer. When you install the portable hard drive, computers would normally auto-detect it. Another good thing with portable hard drives is that you can re-use them again and again and again, like Transport for London's Oyster cards I bought last Saturday.

Speaking of Oyster Cards, there is another option, CD-RW and CD-R. Be careful not to write unsucessfully, otherwise the disk could be unreadable.

A memory stick or a USB mass storage device is another option. It should be enough to hold a region as long as the device is big enough.

The important thing for SC4 is RAM. Get all you can if you want it to work well. 2GB if possible, 1GB at a minimum. Of course, the faster the processor and hard drive, the better. Video memory is less important for SC4 than for other resource-intensive games, so if SC4's all you play, you can get by with a cheaper card. Go for Nvidia, however - SC4 doesn't like ATI.
