SC4+RH crash and reboot

First i'm french guy and i love this site.

Computer :

AMD Barton 3200+

1024mo PC 3200 (Corsair) 2-2-2-5

ATI Radeon 9500Pro 128mo

Windows XP Sp2 Dx9.0c

About 50Go free on my HDD

How I install the game :

Sim City 4

Rush Hour

PATCH-SKU2-TO-P2.exe (some problems comes with the patch (Old file Not found))

Run the game

Configuration :

1280*1024/32bps

All Options High (but i tested with low and medium )

Without Plugins or modds

After a couple of minutes (5 to 15) the game crash and turn my computer into a black screen, and my pc reboot instantanatly (grouphm)

I install the game a twice, and i format but there's no result . Someone's got the miracle potion

I play at Guild wars NHL06 City life with no problem no bug no crash

I notice it. If there is problems with the patch installation, the game mechanics will be ruined, so try to install the right SKU update.

Hi, I had this problem aswell. You did'nt list what brand mobo you have so I'm no sure if its the same thing. Anyway, I had a gigabyte nforce3 board, if you update the drivers and use onboard sound it causes some sort of conflict. I went out and bought a $25 sound card and it hasnt happend ever agian. I hope this helps.

My soundcard is integrated to the mobo because my SBlive is dead (godsave my SBlive )

Today I gonna buy SC4 Deluxe.

I think the problem become from the update (Awfull sentence no ?) Simcity_1.dat wont update Take a look of the update log

Hi, Again...

I buy Sim City 4 Deluxe,the installation and patch work properly but the game still crashing

I tested With and Without SP2, Catalyst 5.8 5.12 6.5 still not work

Gonna test with a Cr**k

Maybe crash comes (<-?) from my soundcard, it's the only thing i've changed and the game crash...

I'm pretty sure its the onboard sound, simcity 4 just dosent like onboard. If I were you I would just pick up a new sound card, it will be worth the money not to have to deal with all the trouble.

you're right i just receive my new X-Fi and Sim city 4 Doesnt crash anymore

So the onboard chipset on the ASUS A7N8X is incompatible with Sim city 4 (Rainbow Six Lockdown just for information)
