Sing.exe Simcity Name Generator?

Hi all,

In the old back days of simtrop, someone had created a city name generator called Sing.exe
It's a standalone tool for creating city names for your cities...

I've search the stex and the mods section, but can't seem to find this file...

Does anyone know where I can find this file? Or if someone still has this tool, can someone provide it for me???

I'm not sure if it is still there or if it is the same file, as I haven't downloaded it yet. However I think I might do as it looks like something I was looking for some time ago.

I found it again using Google, searching on +"sing.exe" +simtropolis and was able to use the cached ST webpage to find the link.

A city name generator??? That sounds like about the most useless tool ever developed for this game. Why would you ever want to use something that picks names for you?

Well I actually find such things quite entertaining, especially if I can customise them. I really like the ones that pick multiple names for you to choose from. I also quite like webpages that have lists of themed names, they always give me new ideas.

Mostly for each region I use a theme for names. Eg my last region was nature names, my previous region was knights of the round table. Thinking of names for the first few cities in a region is generally pretty easy, but since I don't use large cities, I tend to run out of names before I get to the end. A generator is useful for this, and also for providing new inspiration and getting out of a rut.

I have lots of trouble picking names for cities. Sometimes, a city name generator can give you a good name, or even give you a good idea for a name. Comes in handy quite a bit actually.
