SC4 Deluxe Problem-very weird

I have been playing SC4 Deluxe for  3 months with no problems whatsoever but after my Dad restricted my account to a limited account, I could no longer play it.

The game would start up until the opening movie and then the region view but then, without warning, I would return to my desktop. I also noticed that the words and letters were smaller than usual.

I'm always downloading mods and stuff from the STEX but it has never happened like this for 3 months. Is this my computer problem or is it my disc problem?

My system specs are as follows:

    Processor : AMD Athlon 1Ghz

    RAM            : 653 Mb

Hardisk      : C drive has an extra of 300 Mb free space but I store SC4 Deluxe on another

drive which has 37 Gb of free space.

    Video Card: Matrox G400

    OS               : Windows XP Professional

    Account      : Limited

Some kind soul please tell me what in the world is going on for I strongly desire to play SC4 Deluxe. Pleeeaasssee...

    I need SC4 to survive...

Well, it could be a couple of things, but the most likely thing is that you don't have enough virtual memory.  If should be at least 3 x your real space.  Since as a regular user you may not have the power to increase this, it should probably be set at maximum for everyone.  If you can't do this, get your Dad to set the swap file for all users to 4095MB initial and maximum.

The other is that, since you no longer have admin privilege, you need to have your Dad grant you permission to run the game, or you may have to reinstall it in your own space.

Also please tell me if it's something wrong with my disk. Because it's very hard to find SC4 in Singapore here these days (I live in Singapore).

The only thing that can go wrong with a CD is mechanical damage.  If you have no scratches and haven't gotten it wet, it is OK.
