datgen doesn't work

I've searched all the datgen-related forums but i couldn't get the answer

Anyone can help me? or i just need a program that lets me see pics of my bats so that i can organize my plugins folder

If you can't get DatGen to work, try ilive's Reader or SC4Tool (see link in my sig). Unfortunately, DarkMatter is AWOL, and DatGen has been abandoned.

the problem with the reader as well with sc4tool is that you have to load one by one the bats you wanna see by clicking the open button and browse for the file in my huge plugins folder

what was nice with datgen is that I just needed to double-click on a file to see the pic of my bats

is there maybe a way to automatically open the reader when i click on a lot? or is there anyone that knows how to make datgen work?

are you using the new datgen or the old one?

If its the new datgen, you'll need a the later .NET upgrades that MS has done. not just the basic .NET setup.

If its the old one, then having .NET is enough, so I'd check what version you're running. You need the latest one there too.

Just assign the SC4 filetypes (SC4Lot, SC4Model, SC4Desc, DAT) to the reader, then the program will start when you double-click on them. Right-click on one file, select "Open with" and then "Select Program". In the new window, select/browse for the Reader's EXE and check "Always open with this program".
