Yeah, that's sad to hear a sports legend like him pass away. He was in so many baseball groups. Yes most noteable team was the Yankees. I hope his family heals from this incident.

He's no "sports legend".

I do recall the name from my old Baseball cards, though. (I didn't really actually start following baseball itself until '98)

I'd be shocked if he wasn't on something. Would be pretty ironic if he wasn't, though.

I was listening to them describe his career on the radio yesterday.

Suspended 7 times for failing drug tests, 7 ! in a 12 year carreer. Amazing he was givin the 8th chance.

He was a rel good young prospect he pitched here in Michigan and I guess from what I heard is that he was real close to Bud Selig so I guess that explains the 8th Chance

That, and baseball officials are terrible when it comes to punishments for illegal substances. Look how long it took them to come up with a punishment for steroids abuse.

BTW, there still is not set list of rules for using other illegal drugs, such as the ones Howe was caught with.

Frankly, not a surprise at all.

Almost as little a surprise when Billy Martin was drunk when involved in his fatal truck crash. It is like some people decide their own fates.
