From reading various posts, it appears that there is a way to zone using the control key that enables the lot size and arrows to be changed. I've tried various combinations and can't quite figure it out. By default, the lot arrows seem to point toward the highest type of road and the lot size can be a crap shoot no matter what size grid I'm using. Can someone help me break the code? (I'm trying to get 6 x 6 lots, if that's doable)

I don't know why you would be having problems, but here goes.

With the mouse depressed and dragged over the area you want to zone, try this.

Depress the 'Shift' key. This should give a different zone arrangement than normal.

Depress the 'Control' key. This should give a different zone arrangement than normal or shift one.

For 6 x6, there should be no problem. Shift-mousedrag should give you two 6x3s pointing at the roads.

    Cheers.

Thanx, Manu-fan. Guess I was hitting control before I dragged it. (Duh!) The shift works fine for eliminating the streets they throw in. Trouble I'm having, I want some of the lots to point toward a road, but if I have an avenue on one side, they'll automatically point toward the avenue unless I leave a strip of tiles blank on the avenue side. If I do it like that and try to fill in the little strip later, I get tiny 1 x 1 lots still pointing toward the avenue. Something I can live with, but it would be nice to be able to fill in the whole block and have them all point in the direction I want so the grids would look more uniform all the way along the road.

Appreciate the help. The control trick was just what I needed for the big lots. I found doing it like that I can make them as deep as I want. Gonna be doing a lotta rezoning!

    "Alt" changes the direction.
