BAT File Help

Hey im pretty new to this community and ive been playing sim city 4 deluxe just vanilla style, so looking on this website i was interested in looking at how to spice up your city so i was wondering how do i go about doing this i have downloaded some files from the ST Exchange and what do i do from here, if i install them how do i run these new features in game?  cheers

You extract the download using Winzip,WinRAR etc. into your MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder or your Program Files/Maxis/SimCity4/Plugins folder and they should appear in game. If this doesn't work, the building you are trying to download must be a growable which means you have to zone some Residential, Commercial or Industrial zones and get to the required stage to make it grow or it could be a reward which means you have to meet some requirements before you can use it in your city. Some downloads have automatic installers in their zip file and if that's the case double click on it to open it and follow the instructions. If the building you downloaded comes with a ReadMe always read it as it contains useful information on how to get the building into the game and how to use it to make your city better. what are the best BAT files to start off with ?

To start with I'd try lots from Vlakhaas, barbyw, mrbisonm and pmiller19574 and BATs from SimGoober, Pegasus, gascooker, Equinox and ill tonkso. There are too many excellent BATters and lotters to list and these are not the only good BATters and lotters on the website.

I would also download the NAM (Network Add On Mod) which adds transport options (trams, roundabouts) and shortens commute times. It can be found here:

hmm i try to download from that link you gave me but it just opens the same window again the PC Version

I am having the same problem, I think it must be a problem with the website as other people have reported the same thing. The only thing I can think of is to try again later, sorry about that.

Hey guys I tried to use some of the desert mods, (I have the Sim City 4 Delux) and the first one I tried was https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=15387 Desert Mod by Teirusu, but when I was using it in God mode, I could build hills, but I couldnt build mountains, cuz then the game would crash on me. Same for when I wanted to raise the elevation, it'd again crash on me. I could see the noticable terrain changing to more deserty looking, but ... I dont know, I can't use it without the game crashing.

Then I tried the THL Desert Terrain Mod version 2.3 [https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=4483]

And this time I didnt notice any change like the mod hadn't taken effect. Just to let you know, I have put these in the correct folder.

I dont really know how to use these texture mods.
