    G'day all,

I'm in depsperate need of assistance in regards to a problem i am having with lots an access to them by road. Firstly, some background to my problem:

I've been playing Sim City 4 using the default regions such as "Timbuktu" for ages, and everything has been working smoothly. THEN i decided to load a "San Francisco" region to use instead. This was entirely succesful, and i preceded to begin constructing cities in this region. My thoughts to this end were "lets get all the infrastructure such as highways etc. on the ground, and then build my city AROUND those, making everything super-efficient from the start" and so i indeed built all my highways, bridges etc. around the region, connecting most of the "city squares" which i wanted to begin building cities in. However, when i finally got round to zoning areas, the first of these being residential, i was met with no development and every zoned area being highlighted with a "No ROad Connection" banner. Firstly, i thought that maybe the game didn't like me using Highways as my sole road connection, so i forked out a bit of extra dosh and built a road connecting the said "City Square" to it's neighbour. However, this had no effect, and the zoned tiles remained unconnected by road. Can someone please help me here? i really don't know how to get my city up and running!

    Cheers, Ben Bazz

Make sure that the arrows on the zoning are layed towards the roads. This you can change with the Shift and the Ctrl key.

Then , sometimes it happens that some zones show then no rd connection for a short time,. I don't exactly know why. Just continue to build your city and after a certain time they will disappear and the lot will start developping.

Maybe I didn't read this correctly, but if you are using highways and trying to place building lots on them, you are out of luck.  Building lots can only be placed on streets, roads, avenues and  one-ways.  If you have the NAM there are a few more options.

Controlled access highways in the game do not support buildings.
