Fire Damage?

Hello all. Let me first say thanks to all that have posted on this forum.  I am new to this game (bought it 3 days ago) and I'm loving it.

I have, what probably is a stupid question.  I made the mistake of walking to the bathroom and a fire broke out.  I didn't have local fire coverage for the area yet, a mistake which is now remedied. However, the fire partially destroyed 3 buildings, including my small airport.  I ended up demolishing the buildings in order to make better access to the area.  It's been quite awhile and the airport still shows damaged and no flights are inbound.

Will the airport "regenerate" or do I have to demolish and rebuild it.  (The cost to fix was $820, if that helps.)

Give it another two years or something like that. If you can't wait, rebuilding can be worth it for the good of the commerce.

I would recommend rebuilding. Or you can use the free space where the buildings used to be in place of some parks or trees to increase desirability. I usually use that tactic.
